Lead Awareness for Labs
Target Audience: Any UNM employee who works with both organic lead and inorganic lead compounds with emphasis on employees who work in laboratories. In some cases, this module is appropriate to share with students and volunteers. This module is not designed for maintenance personnel involved in lead abatement. Those persons should request the class designed for lead abatement.
Purpose: Provide information to UNM employees about the hazards associated with exposure to lead.
Content: Contains information on the specific health hazards associated with exposure to lead, symptoms of lead exposure, PEL's of lead, determining exposure to lead, preventive measures, medical surveillance, storage and disposal and what to do in the event of a lead spill or accident.
