Biological Safety

Biological safety involves agents and pathogens that are present in many work environments. The most common concern is Bloodborne pathogens. These have the ability to adversely affect human health in a variety of ways, ranging from relatively mild, allergic reactions to serious medical conditions, even death. Under OSHA 1910.1030(c)(1)(i) employers must stablish a written Exposure Plan to prevent or minimize employee exposure.
