Introduction

The Fire Safety branch of the Department of Environmental Health and Safety is responsible for:

  1. Managing the University's compliance with the State Fire Prevention Code and other applicable fire safety laws and standards
  2. Providing fire safety education and training
  3. Investigating all fires that occur on University property
  4. Performing plan review and construction inspections
  5. Conducting annual fire alarm tests
  6. Maintaining the fire extinguishers on campus

Life safety is the primary objective of the Fire Safety Program; through proper education and training, making sure the campus remains safe is our priority.
